When considering replacing your roof, there is the choice of shingles to use. What you choose, will determine how, it looks and how long it will last. There are two basic types of shingles on the market, one is a 3-tab, and the other is a laminate dimensional shingle.
The first is a plain Jane cheaper type, with varying colors, ranging from 20-25 year ratings. The other choice you have is the Achitectural shingle with average ratings from 30-50 years, with better aesthetics, or curb appeal, designed to mimic the old wood shake type roofs. 80% of our customers choose the dimensional shingles over the 3-tab's primarily due to the look.
