 Insurance Claims Process

This is what hail damage looks like.

East slope (14) Hail Hits 10'X10'

In the event there is storm damage to your home, it is a wise choice to have us present, when your adjuster comes to your home. The reason for this is, (would you go to court without a lawyer?) Adjusters work for the insurance companies, and most homeowners, are not aware of the severity of the damage, other than the appearance. Minimal damage can still ruin your home, undetected for months, even years. We see alot of homeowners try to go it alone, and not get full compensation for damages, or get an unwarranted claim on their record, that can lead to the Insurnce Agency "possibly" dropping you in the future.

Step 1.    Call Expedited Roofing & Repair for your free inspection 704-913-5999. We will come to your home, and inspect your roof, gutters, window screens, etc. for signs of damage. We will then advise you of our findings, and provide pictures. It's simple either you have damage, or you don't.

Step 2.    Providing you have damage(s) we find that is storm related, you will need to call your insurance agency, and tell them your contractor found damage, and you would like an adjuster to come out to inspect.

Step 3.   The insurance company, or adjuster will notify you of a convenient time to come to your home. You will then contact us, and advise us of that meeting time & date. (We would like to be there when they are.) Some insurance agencies and adjusters, can arrive sooner than the appointment time to avoid your contractor.

Step 4.   When the time for the meeting arrives, we will come early, to talk with you and wait for the adjuster. We will assist the adjuster in locating any and all damage, and go over together what is covered, and what is not.

Step 5.   After the adjuster has taken pictures, notes, and measurements they will often, (not always) make an estimate, and cut you a check right on the spot. If you have a mortgage often times the check will have their name along with yours on the check. you will need them to sign off on the check, so you may cash or deposit it. Note: if your mortgage company is local you may take it there. If they are not local you will need to mail it to them.

Step 6.   We will go over all details of the scope of loss, ACV, RCV, Depreciation, Deductible, and other things like contract, shingle colors, time frames, and protection of your yard, and shrubs.

Step 7.   After all work is completed, we will have you sign one of our Certificate of Completion forms, and we will fax it to your mortgage, or insurance company to notify them of replacement, or repairs made. they will then cut another check for the balance (Depreciation).

We will perform your Roofing, Siding, Gutters and Ceilings, for the amount the insurance pays you + your deductible.

It's that simple, the only things you need to do is make the initial call to the insurance company, and handle the checks, we'll do the rest.

DO NOT cash any checks presented to you, by your insurance company untill your roofing contractor, has seen and approves the scope of loss. The reason is, if you cash it, you basically agree with the amount, and may not have enough compensation. Like a traffic ticket, if you just pay the ticket, you agree.
